yeah, i'm sure diplomacy would return our kidnapped soldiers back and prevent such incidents from happening again.
did it ever occur to you that: a. we fully extracted all diplomatic paths to both crisis? and b. that our enemies are using are diplomatic naive approach against us?
i say, ENOUGH of this subserviency! sometimes you are ought to fight back!
Ilan, good on you. God on you, dammit. War ain't bringin' the kidnapped back, it's just takin' more folks to the other side.
Whenever you see a war you should ask: "cui bono" - who benefits? Guess who? Uzi. AK. Glock. Etc.
I say no war is a just war ... and no peace is just either. The only difference is the number of people killed. And that's a tally that makes things DEAD clear to me.
sure luka, until islamic jihad will reach you and then all the humanity in the world wont help.
'stepping to the other side' can just as easly happen to your beloved ones, even if they are not at war. for example a bombed bus, perhapse train, maybe a plane.... and all that becuase afew wackos decided they are heretics for not believing in muhamad.
I've been thinking about this for days, and keep coming back to this:
HAMAS INVADED ISRAEL, KILLING AND KIDNAPPING ISRAELIS.
HEZBOLLAH INVADED ISRAEL, KILLING AND KIDNAPPING ISRAELIS.
WAR IS NOT HEALTHY-PERIOD.
But sometimes...sometimes...'cause if you don't, the world becomes one big prison.
Ilan, I have a son your age, since 2000 my biggest fear is that he would be sent to war.
My nephew, 40, is a tank commander, I worry about him 24/7.
My grandson just turned two years old in May.
More than almost anything, I want my son, his son, to never go to war; I wish my nephew was a pediatrician.
But my father and my uncles were in the infantry from 8 December 1941 through 1946-Pop was wounded in both theaters, my uuncles were in the pacific. My mother (British) lost several family members in the years 1939 on-some were killed in the Blitz.
They didn't want to go to war, but if they had not...
Joe: I understand you perfectly. But ... to be honest ... I don't see much "Islamic Jihad" coming this way. I see more of us and our bombs going the other way.
Let's also be honest - I would far prefer a world at peace than a world at war.
And now I'm going to go fetch a bagel for breakfast.
Photography for me is a way to find my inner peace. Same with blogging. So I combine the two.

Whilst your intentions are obviously noble, the problem with 'No War' is that it usually implies, 'Live with the Status Quo'.
...Or find better ways to change reality (Status Quo) - Diplomacy.

I'm so sorry.
Hezi - How can you be sure of anything? Will violence bring back the kidnapped soldiers? Or maybe their bodies?
Luka – Thanks mate!
Joe – What is your solution? Total annihilation? Full re-education of the Islamic public?
Fox's mom – Thank you for your words.
