SYRIA – Unofficial sources state that Syria prepared its ground and air forces on high alert ready to attack. Pilots are sleeping in cockpits.
Scud, Zelzal, Fajr 3, Fajr 5 (most of them can reach Tel-Aviv) and Katyusha missiles are already stationed and pointed towards Israel. Assad issued the order after Iranian military commanders have decided to directly intervene in Hezbollah efforts by supplying them constant weapon shipments by air.
Assad's assumes that Israel will try to intercept those shipments over Syrian land. In that case, he will attack.
On the other hand, on Friday, Sheikh 'Abdullah bin Jabrin issued a verdict where he states that it's not allowed to support, join or even pray for Hezbollahs success.
LEBANON - Eleven days into war, 362 Lebanese were killed. IDF sources state that at least half, ~180, were Hezbollah terrorists. We also learned that Hezbollah used Lebanese troops and intelligence in their attempt to sink the Israeli missile boat (4 Israeli soldiers were killed in that incident).
Last night, IDFs infantry and armored forces have crossed the Lebanese border.

The Israeli side is skeptic and demands the return of Gilad Shavit.

also watch this vide please. I am not sure how true it is, you might know more.
Truth is a gray area.
For example -
He is saying that those kidnapped brothers were hid from the press.
In that case why the news about them appear here and here? (Hebrew here and here)
Second, he claims Palestinians kidnapped the soldier (Gilad Shalit) as a revenge for IDFs' kidnapping those brothers - but the tunnel under IDFs post was dug long before the so called "kidnapping".
Third... Chomsky is not a big fan of Israel (Or USA in that matter).
yes, it is a gray area like when you say that half the dead were hizbollah !! how could that be while you are targetting roads, houses, media, power stations and even a church!! i believe hizbollah soldiers were praying in the church then!!

Free soul - Both you and I don't have the exact numbers. Even numbers are players in this war because each side will try to use them for their own advantge. I say "half of them were Hezbollah" - you say "half of them were children". We both rely on media for this information, and we all know that media is the grayest of the gray (at best) when it comes to our (middle east) region (or any other place in that matter).
You say we are targeting roads, houses... And what do you think the Hezbollah is targeting?
I guess you are right, but compare the equipment that Israel has to what Palestinians have? Maybe the tunnel has been there for a long time but they would use it when it's needed the most.
But I think there is a something more important that needs attention. Even if we assume that they wanted to do that kidnapping long time a go, still why there is double standards? Why if Palestinians kidnap someone (a soldier) it is so bad but if the Israelis do the same (civilians) it is ok?
I agree with you that these are just numbers but we also have seen the pictures of dead children, so many of them. There are some grey areas but there are some areas which are too bright but we are still blind to them.
I still have not understood why Israel is destroying Lebanon rather than HA. I don't know how much of coverage you have there but the scale of bombardon is unbelievable and inappropriate and unacceptable.
I don't know what will happen once this madness is done, but I know it won't get any better. It never has got better after any war. It is just making the gap between people bigger and bigger.
